Runway on the Runway is a fashion extravaganza with a difference. It will be staged BY young people to raise money FOR young people who are less fortunate than themselves.

The theme of our evening will be PROM!

We`re talking stretch limos, glamorous dresses and smart suits! We`re talking big hair, fake tan and tantalising make-up!

Thanks to the ever extending influence of American television, prom night has become one of the most important dates in the teen diary! Dressing to impress is certainly a pre-requisite for prom night with many girls regarding it as a rehearsal for their wedding day.

Pupils from our ten chosen schools will be modelling the latest in Prom fashions from our fantastic designers. They will be given expert tuition from our team at Boss Model Mangement, choreographer Anne Finnegan and  master classes in hair and make-up. There is no doubt that all those involved will gain a tremendous amount of experience....as well as having an "experience!"

This promises to be one of the most exciting and innovative fashion events of 2013. Can you afford to miss it?

There will also be a competition to design the most stylish prom dress. The eventual winner will be judged on the night by a celebrity panel and will be open to applicants from all schools in the catchment area, and not just those chosen for the catwalk display. There will be a final shortlist and those selected will get the chance to model their creations on their own catwalk at Runway in the Runway.

We will be raising money for three charities: Teenage Cancer Trust, Make-A-Wish, and Medcare, the designated charity for Manchester Airport. We also aim to increase awareness of the difficulties associated with the diagnosis of teenage cancer. It can sometimes take as long as a year for a young person to find out what is actually wrong with them. The treatment for this life-threatening disease can be debilitating and have a devastating impact on the life of sufferers.

While we are celebrating the PROM we are aware that not everybody gets to go. Some teenagers will miss this special occasion because they are ill. Some may be going through gruelling cancer treatment resulting in hair loss, sickness, tiredness and sometimes depression. They would love to join in but may be experiencing a degree of social isolation due to the effects of their treatment. It is our aim to raise awareness of this aspect of teenage cancer and to make money to help support young people battling this disease.
